FAQs about Earning Recertification Credits
Through Concurrent and Roundtable Sessions at the EBS

1. How many recertification credits can I earn at the Summit?

The maximum possible number for each day will be listed on your Renewal Unit Validation Card. The number that any participant will earn depends on the sessions that he or she chooses to attend or ones that are required of specific participant groups, such as High Schools That Work new site members or those participating in special, extended training sessions. Please note: It is the responsibility of each attendee to make sure that earning recertification credits by tracking your session attendance is appropriate and approved for his or her personal professional development plan.

2. Do I need to register to collect session credits?

The only thing that you will need to get started is the Renewal Unit Validation Card that will be provided for you in your registration packet. Because we do not maintain records of who earns this form of certificate renewal credit, there is no registration required.

3. How do I track my attendance for certificate renewal credits?

Simply attach the sticker that you will be given at the conclusion of each session on the line designated for that session. For each General Session and Vendor Visitation Session, a number will be given verbally that you will write on the designated line.

4. If I fail to get a sticker before I leave a session, will it be possible to get one later?

Leftover stickers are destroyed immediately after each session is concluded, so it is your responsibility to get one before you leave a concurrent or roundtable session.

5. If I lose my card, may I get a replacement?

We do not have any replacement or extra cards as they are packaged prior to the Summit with a participant name attached to each.

6. When I am ready to leave the Summit, how do I validate my card?

Staff are available throughout the conference to provide check-out for anyone who is leaving. Present your card at the registration desk and you will receive a validation letter to take back for your district personnel records. It is recommended that you keep your Summit program book, along with your session verification card with your stickers, and the validation letter to present to personnel at your school or district for their review relative to your renewal contract.
